Retiring Adventurers, Leaves of Absence, and Buildings
Retiring Characters:
Retiring characters can choose to sell their buildings to other characters. The price of the building is the sum of all rooms and teams if you have any. Teams may be sold separately from the building.
Leaves of absence:
If you are going on a leave of absence, post about it on your character threads. If you are gone longer than 40 days, then your character is assumed to leave the town. If you do not post then the limit is 20 days. When this happens then the buildings are assumed to be abandoned. Return of the character will allow you to reacquire the building. All teams that were recruited will be disbanded.
This does not happen if:
1. The character is gone through an adventure that lasts 20 or more days.
2. The character is locked out of action due to a Pantheon-sanctioned lock.
Abandoned buildings:
Abandoned buildings become property of the city, with any teams associated with the building being disbanded.
The city may sell the building, as is (any capital for rooms not yet in progress or completed is considered to be lost), with any rooms in progress continued to completion. This does not work for any buildings or rooms constructed or built by the city.
A returning character is given the following options upon their return:
1. If the building was sold, half the selling price.
2. If the building was not sold, they must pay 1/10th the price of the building to the town, along with any missed taxes for the building only.
Auction rules for the sale of buildings by the city:
Abandoned buildings will be auctioned off after ownership reverts to town. The Auction will be a blind auction which is set at 75% of the base value. On the day of the announcement, interested parties will PM the auction organizer their bids, the auction will be ongoing for 3 days after which the winning bid will be announced.
The winner will create a new building thread under their name, which will be moved to the approved building board for tracking purposes. Bidding 2-3x the price of the building is frowned upon and will not be accepted. All interested parties may only bid once. All proceed will go to Town coffers.
